S B Education trust started in the year 1998. The trust is grateful to Sri S T Nagaraj and Dr B Shivalingaiah for their help and support in forming the trust. The members of the trust are in the field of education since three decades. Mandya Computer Center, established by Dr B Shivalingaiah and Meera Shivalingaiah in 1986, is the pioneer in computer education in Mandya District. The main aim of the trust is to elevate the literacy level and create awareness about the importance of education in and around Mandya through its various institutions. The trust has not only established schools providing basic education but also has initiated industrial training centers and various other institutions enabling the students to become self-reliant, employable and compete with their urban counterparts in all competitive examinations at state and national level.

Late Sri S T Nagaraj . Founder
Sri S T Nagaraj completed his B.E in Civil engineering and became a professor in PES College, Mandya. He obtained his Master’s degree in Iowa, USA and served as principal of A.I.C.T.E Chickamagalur for 14 years. He is also one of the fast walkers and has represented India in Asian Games. Though he is not with us at present, his words of inspiration are always a guiding light to S.B Education Trust.

Couple of years later, he was absorbed by the Karnataka State government where in he worked in various prestigious positions such as Member Secretary, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board(KSPCB) ,Bangalore ,Chairman ,KSPCB, Bangalore and Managing Director of Karnataka Renewable Energy, Bangalore. His strong will and exemplary vision has brought the dreams of S.B.E.T to reality through various institutions.

Smt Meera Shivalingaiah is herself a renowned name in the field of social work. She has served on the boards of various NGOs and spearheaded numerous social service activities such as health care camps, rural educational camps, rural computer education centres. She has been recognized as the best women entrepreneur multiple times by the state and national governments by bestowing esteemed awards such as “Mother India International Award”, “Best women entrepreneur award”, “Rani Chennamma Award”. The trust has successfully reached thus far under the leadership and guidance of the generous and wholehearted secretary Smt. Meera Shivalingaiah.

Smt Suma Shivalingaiah is working as Manager in the IT field in Melbourne, Australia and has excelled in her work in the company. She ranked first in her bachelor of engineering. She has been an excellent bharatanatyam dancer and carnatic singer. The website of SBET is designed and sponsored by Smt. Suma Shivalingaiah and her husband Mr. Prakash Babu. The success of Mandya Computer Center is attributed highly to the strong guidance of Smt Suma Shivalingaiah.

Dr Hema Raveesh had her primary education in westwood school, Hamilton, Canada, USA and got a teacher’s favorite award. She has pursued and now fulfilling her dreams of building a kindergarten school which provides all the facilities she had experienced and enjoyed in Canada to the children of Mandya. She graduated from Mysore Medical College as a Doctor and completed her post graduation in Medicine from Bellur Medical College. She stood II rank in M.D (Medicine). Currently she is practicing medicine in one of the leading medical institutions, Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular sciences and researches, Mysore. She is also the consultant physician for SBET students and takes leadership in conducting health care camps in rural areas around Mandya district.

Prakash Babu is dedication personified. Working in Ford Motors (Australia). with his multiple degrees M.Tech, MBA in RMIT Australia. He is always helpful to others. He is currently administering the business development and marketing strategies of various institution of the trust and has been a great driving force.

Smt Lakshmi Shivalingaiah is a powerhouse of talent and creativity. She was awarded “National Balarashree Ratna Award” at the age of twelve for her exceptional academic performance as well as extra curricular achievements. A great dancer and choreographer since childhood, Lakshmi also has completed her junior in Carnatic Classical singing. After securing third rank in 12th grade for Karnataka State, she obtained bachelors of engineering from S.J.C.E, Mysore. As a senior software engineer in symphony, she has received multiple awards for her exceptional performance. Bangalore.
